Three Personal Keys That Open New Doors
Key #1: Increase your Capacity.
One of the biggest hindrances to continued growth is a lack of capacity. No one has infinite capacity. Everyone hits the end of their capacity if they are focused and working hard. So, it is essential to increase your capacity if you want to see growth in your personal life, profession, or business. When you increase your capacity, you see more doors to walk through. I promise you, when you find yourself hitting the end of your capacity, you haven’t.
If you tell me that you have reached your limit, I will respectfully disagree and will even be able to prove it to you over a short time.
Key #2: Take the risk.
When you increase your capacity, and more doors are open to you, you must make the decision to walk through the door. That will always involve some risk. Any progress consists of some risk, and those willing to take the risk are the people that make progress. Here is a truism worth incorporating into your thinking. Most people who are willing to take a risk have given themselves permission to make mistakes and sometimes fail. However, they learn from their mistakes and failures and keep moving towards their goals. It is a winning attitude. Risk is a part of life and success
Internal obstacles and barriers are the usual culprits that stop people from taking risks. However, those fear triggers can be identified and overcome with the right help.
Key #3: Be flexible. When you increase your capacity and walk through the door, you have changed, and your circumstances have changed too. Because of the change, you must be flexible. Sometimes you have to change the way you think and do things. You have to be creative and adjust to the new environment. Sometimes that change takes place without the increase in capacity. Last year showed our circumstances could change dramatically almost overnight.
Flexibility isn’t just for yoga. Strategic flexibility in the face of changing circumstances and environments is essential for success. Everyone can learn to be more strategically flexible.
The Tip: Reflect upon this quote from Andy Stanley, “You will never maximize your potential in any area without coaching. It is impossible. You may be good. You may even be better than everyone else. But without outside input, you will never be as good as you could be…” [Taken from the PastorServe website]
